Reviews
Really good mountain restaurant set high above the town of Grindelwald in the Swiss Alps. Easily reachable by cable car from the First Talstation found on the main street through Grindelwald.
Very large outdoor terrace seating area, with amazing views up to the higher peaks and way back down to Grindelwald, at the bottom of the valley. Tall glass windbreaks surround the terrace, keeping away any alpine blasts. Making it pleasurable sitting out in the open.
The restaurant is provides a great place to stop for a drink, or lunch whether summer or winter. The alpine flower meadows and hiking trails are a joy when it's hot. So too the buzz and stories of the skiers and snowboarders in winter are entertaining.
From Hawaii to Switzerland! Aloha
Tip top gsi!!!
What a lovely view
Nice place!
Great view from the restaurant. Simple and good home-style cuisine with a very good price-performance ratio. The path from the parking lot through the forest could be better lit. It is best to take a lamp with you and reserve it at the weekend or wait.
The ski facilities were closed, which was very convenient for us. We took the winter hiking trail to the right of the ski lift (approx. 60 minutes running time) and were alone until we arrived at First. The path was icy in places > good shoes and sticks would be appropriate here.
The mountain restaurant was open and almost deserted. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We took the winter hiking trail down into the valley, which runs parallel to the ski slope. If the ski facility is open, I would not recommend this route. It's best to take the other route.
Here you get something for your money. Including a fantastic view over the beautiful Entlebuch😀
